The focus of version 2 is to start more WIFI activity with each other and play the unique WIFI based battle game on the forums. The forums will be rearranged to encourage more WIFI activity and game play on the forums.

Becuase I can't seem to get the SQL database of this forum uploaded to the other SQL of the new forum, I will delay the process to upgrading to version 2. I do not want to start all over and that is why I want to transfer all of your posts and accounts to the other site. But until I can get that to work, we will stay here. I don't know how long it will take for this to happen. For all you know, I could find the answer and later today we will move to version 2. Time will tell.

Version 2 is loaded with new features. It is oriented around two main concepts:
  • Making it easy for members to share their friend codes and start games/tourneys with each other.
  • An on-site Wi-Fi inspired army and battle game.
I bet you're wondering about the army game. It is much better than the battle mod we have. It has features like choosing your own race of Wi-Fi Characters to fight in your army, you train them, buy weapons (attack, defense, spy, etc.). You can create your own clan and be commander and lead your members to victory. There is a bank system to store your money and have your own secure bank account. To earn money, you can post, win battles, charge members for your services (ex: Codeman would charge 15000 Wi-Fi Points for a sig.), win contests or perform a good deed. There are so many new features there is not enough time to explain them all. Create your army and try to become the richest most powerful Wi-Fi Champ!

There will also be some extra things added.
  • A report manager will be added. This allows all mods and admins to handle reports better and faster.
  • The "My Assistant" panel will be beefed up. You could say it is on steroids.
  • Sig/avatar limitations will be done by the system automaticly. It will save us time and energy enforcing that rule.
  • The boards will be re-arranged.
  • New skin

How long will this take you must be wondering...

The entire installation would be a few hours and testing to make sure it works would take some time. The site would be down for at least a day. Your posts and accounts will be intact the entire time.

When this will happen: ASAP

This is not a random change. This has been carefully planned out for 2 1/2 weeks ahead. I hope that this change to The Wi-Fi Battle Arena will make everything more fun and give us a nice member boost.

Kankui did a great job advertising. The faster we get more active members is the fast I can get this really cool system in place and up and running for you all!!

    I realize I won't be very active for a while. Next Friday the 11th, I have the AP European History test. That takes up a lot of my time and for all of May my classes will be reviewing for finals and state exams. June will be crazy as well. On June 22nd which is the last offical day of testing, I will be free. I will be online on some days. I just won't be making a whole bunch of changes. Once summer comes, I will be much more active and making changes.

    I will tell you this though. I am planning something special for summer for you guys. wink.gif

    I got the friend code profile system from they guy who coded it. After 2 months of arguing about sending the damn files, I have it. I will make some changes. I am in need a good php coder who knows php very well, Javascript, SQL, and some CSS.

    For those who don't know about this system, here are the features:
    • Create your own 100% customizeable friend code profile
    • Share your friend codes and wii numbers with all
    • have your own personal WIFI expereinces blog
    • Customize your profile with your own customizations or use the pre-made templates.
    • Rate other members
    • Those with admin access can create WIFI contests for you to be in and the contest results will be shown.
    Those are the features of the current version. I would all this version Beta 2.1

    Even though it can be considered a finished script, I feel there are tons of features left out.

    It has come to our attention that a bug in Internet Explorer 6 and 7 can allow an XSS (cross-site scripting) attack by forcing uploaded image and PDF files to run as HTML which could allow an attack to run code through a user's browser. It should be noted that the XSS damage is significantly mitigated by the "HttpOnly" cookies which were introduced in IP.Board 2.2.0. This means that sensitive cookies in IP.Board 2.2.0 and higher cannot be read by JavaScript which could be crafted using this bug.

    Although this is a significant flaw within Internet Explorer, we have made a work around to resolve this issue by scanning uploaded files for possible malicious code. If a file is found to contain code that should not exist, such as HTML or JavaScript in an image file, the upload will be denied.


    I replaced the old file that allowed the flaw to occur with the new file that should prevent it. Even though you may use Firefox, I will not have my site security compromised. So as of now, this problem has been fixed. Even though uploading is disabled for all except mods and admins, it is a good idea to keep the security tight and up to date. wink.gif

    I was thinking about this since I setup the new homepage. I was thinking we can do a Nintendo Wii/ WIFI News/Reviews site. You would find the news and put it in YOUR OWN WORDS and post is on the news site. Pictures would be allowed. Mods would have "Editor" powers and people who contribute a lot and WELL could find themselves with a special position on the news/reviews site.
